Kaden James Thompson Arrives!!

Kaden James was born Wednesday, May 13th at 2:32pm. He weighed 9lbs 1oz and was 22 inches long. Wednesday morning, I woke up at 5am to go to the bathroom. When I got out of bed I felt like a warm sensation. I wasn't sure if I had wet my pants (a pregnancy problem of mine!) or if my water broke. After pacing back and forth trying to figure out what to do, I woke John up and he suggested I lay down for a little while and see how I feel. When I laid down the contractions started (although I wasn't sure if they were contractions...but they hurt!). So an hour later I convinced John that we should go to the hospital. When we got to the hospital the contractions had really intensified. When the nurse checked me I was already at a 4 or 5, we ordered the epideral immediately. It was the worse pain I have ever felt. I am proud to say that I didn't blame John or tell him that I hated him or that I was never going to have another child. Although, I did say that I know why women say that! I was impressed at how fast the epideral worked, it was immediate. Once it was in, I was good to go! By that point, my sister Suzy arrived at the hospital and an hour after that my mom made it. They hung out with me in the room to pass the time and helped with the actual delivery. Two hours after the epideral, I was fully dialted, but he wasn't low enough to deliver. After several attempts to push, and some potosin I was able to push him out! It was the neatest experience I have gone through. He was definetly worth all the pain and agony of pregnancy of delivery. He is perfect and the sweetest little thing, I love him!

Baby Nursery

We had the nursery ready to go over a month before the baby was due! We were ready to go for our little guy to join our family! Of course we had to go with a sports theme since John is banking on the fact that the baby will be an NFL super star!

My Prego Days

Being pregnant was probably the most challenging experience I have ever gone through. It was full of being sick, being uncomfortable, being forgetful and all around feeling like a completely different person! John and I waited to start a family until we had finished our education, were stable in good jobs and had a great house to raise a family in! We wanted to provide the best life possible from the beginning for our little one. After a lot of hard work and patience we finally got pregnant with our first baby!
