Diego Gadea

Diego Gadea

November 14, 1993 - June 17, 2011

Diego tragically passed away on June 17, 2011. In his 17 short years, he had a great impact on so many lives. Diego had such a sweet spirit and it was felt by all. He was an extraordinary young man with many talents. Diego will remain forever in our hearts. We will miss you sweet Diego.

Silly Boy!

Kaden took swim lessons a couple weeks ago! He did a really good job. He learned how to kick his legs and monkey walk along the side of the pool. He cried the entire time he was with the swim instructor, but he did what she told him too! He would come home and practice on the floor and then would help Avery kick.Kaden is pretty silly. Avery loves this car walker, which was Kaden's. The other day I had taken Avery out of it and when I turned around, Kaden had climbed into it and was just sitting in front of the door looking outside. Crazy kid!He knows he is a little stinker! Everything right now is, "I do, I do." Definitely turning into Mr. Independent!

Brotherly Love!

Kaden and Avery love each other. Kaden always wants sis involved in everything he is doing. He does a great job taking care of her. They finally got to take a bath together!Kaden is always playing with Avery, giving her toys and then taking them away. He likes to squeeze and kiss her. She is a tuff girl!Avery tolerates a lot!

Avery 7 Months!

I can't believe Avery is 7 months! She is growing so fast and turning into her own little personality! She is a little wiggly worm. She doesn't like to sit still. She rolls all over the place. She will get up on all fours and rock back and forth. She has a very strong back and can arch it like nothing else. Her newest achievement is she has 2 teeth! The bottom 2 teeth cut at the same time. They cut through on June 7th. She was a pretty miserable little thing! She is pretty happy most of the time! She loves to sit and play with Kaden and he can make her crack up! She is very ticklish, especially under her neck. She also likes to gouge out her eyes as you can see in the pictures. I am constantly cutting and filing her nails, but it never fails she wakes up with another mark.

Avery is eating fruits and vegetables now. She loves them! She is a very good eater!

She doesn't make funny faces or anything, she just gobbles it all up. She does get mad if she sees you making her food and then you don't feed her right away. She throws a fit!

She is sleeping really good. She goes to bed around 8:15pm and will wake up happy making all kinds of noises around 7:30pm. She is so sweet!

Avery Turns 6 Months!

Don't you just love this face! This cutie patutie turned 6 months! She is 18lbs 11oz and 27 inches long, which puts her in the 90th percentile. She is such happy baby, she is so good. She sleeps awesome, she goes to bed around 8pm and wakes up around 7:3oam happy as a clam. She will just play in her bed making the cutest little noises until you go in and get her. When you go into her room she will look up at you and just smile. I love that smile! She is so content, she can play by herself on the floor or in the pack in play or even her high chair. When she is done she will let you know, but that is it. She doesn't fight eating or diaper changes or even naps! She gets fussy in the evening every once in a while but I think she gets tired.

She loves Kaden. She will just stare at him until he looks at her and then she starts smiling. If he makes noises at her she will make noises back. She can roll over (1st time she rolled of was April 29th, after that there was no stopping her) and scoot around. She gets irritated she can move more, but she is really strong and hold her self up really well. She can sit up on her own, but looses her balance pretty quickly.Avery likes to play outside or just look out the window. Of course we have to protect her from the sun being the whitey that she is!

Avery always is gnawing on her fingers and hands. She is still a thumb sucker. It comforts her when she goes to sleep. There are no signs of teeth, but she is drooling non stop and chews her hand off. She had a baby biscuit for the first time on May 6th. She liked it, but made a funny face at first.Avery had rice cereal for the fist time on May 8th. It took her a few times to figure out how to eat off the spoon and swallow it rather than eat it like a bottle. She really liked it thou! More than anything she had to learn to be a little patient in getting her food!I can't believe she is getting solid food already!I love this picture! The beauty of having a girl is you can use boy clothes if needed and it is no big deal. If you have a boy, you can not use girl clothes, funny huh! These jammies were one of my favorites of Kaden. I had a hard time finding 12 month footie jammies especially as it isn't winter time, but Avery has a cooler body that Kaden and John, so we keep the house cool at night so she needed some thicker jammies. One day I realized how silly I was trying to find them, when I could just pull out Kadens! Kaden is a good big brother! He loves to help. I was making Kaden's breakfast before I was going to feed Avery. Avery started to fuss, the next thing I knew, Kaden climbed up the chair, grabbed the bottle and started to try and feed Avery. It was the cutest and sweetest thing!Avery is a sweet little girl full of smiles! She isn't a little baby anymore!

Kaden's Chocolate Choo Choo Party!

We had Kaden's birthday party with all our family and friends. We had pizza and cake! Of course our theme was choo choos and chocolate..Kadens two favorite things!Kaden and I made these party favors...chocolate choo choos, you can't get better than that! Kaden loved making them, well he loves stealing chocolate kisses, he is quick!Kaden was funny, in the middle of opening his bazillion gifts (the poor guys isn't loved for sure), he opened a gift and then said, "cut, cut" and then ran to the kitchen drawer and pulled out the can opener and then ran back and tried to open the box. SO Funny....he went to that drawer because that is the drawer I used to keep the scissors in. Of course when I realized he was big enough to get them I moved them, but he just finds what he can to pretend cut. He held the can opener right and turned it and everything... I am telling you it is crazy how smart they are! Then of course he enjoyed his chocolate choo choo cake! What a lame mom I am, I have no idea why I didn't put him in his chair and let him go to town himself. I think I got wrapped up cutting the serving cake! I didn't even realize until I looked at the pictures later that night!

It was a good birthday for the little guy! Such a sweetie pie! Love that cute little face!

Kaden Turns Two!

Kaden is a funny little man! For his actual birthday, we went to Chic-Fila for dinner and then ran some errands. When we got home, he got to open a gift! He was pretty excited about that!

He got his very own tool box! Kaden is Mr. Fix-It. He loves to fix thing and help John with whatever project he is working on. Kaden is a great little helper. He loves to do everything that we do. He loves to mow the lawn. He follows John around pushing his little car that he pretends is a lawn mower. We have to be careful when we tell Kaden we are going to cut the grass because he won't forget about it. It is all he will talk about and will beg to "cut, cut, rmmm rmm rmmm." Kaden also loves to help clean and vacuum. He has his own pretend cleaner that he runs and get as soon as he sees me start to clean something up. Then he uses his sound effects to pretend spray the cleaner. It is hilarious. He his very big into making sounds and copying things he hears.

As soon as he opened the tool box, he went right to work!

Kaden also loves Target and recognizes the bullseye. When I am getting dressed in the morning he will say "car, car, karget karget, ma ma." Then when I am not working he wants to go in the car to Target. The other day we were driving on the freeway and we passed a Target, Kaden saw it and said, "karget karget, me" and pointed at himself and started to cry, what a silly little man. If you ask Kaden where does mommy work, he will say "karget."

Kaden also loves ASU. You ask him where does daddy work, he says "A..S..U" and pumps his arms. He recognizes sparky and maroon and gold. The womens softball is in the world series, go devils!, and so we have watch a few games on TV and when Kaden sees it, he says, "A...S...U!" My sister Stephanie was visiting today and was trying to teach Kaden "U of A." Kaden started to try to say it, and then all of a sudden stopped and said, "A..S..U." It was hilarious. She kept saying it and he kept saying ASU, of course John was a very proud dad at the point!

Kaden is also obsessed with the number 2. If you ask him how old he is, he will say two, and point with both of his index fingers. Everything is 2. You ask him how many does he want, it is always 2.

He is still crazy about cars and choo choos. And plays and talks about them all the time. He is getting so big so fast, he is turning into a little man. He picks up on things so fast and is so smart. He amazes me so much everyday. I love having this little guy around! He is so much fun and I can't imagine life without him!

Easter 2011!

This year's Easter was very low key! We kept it relaxed at our house. In the afternoon we went to the park and fed the ducks!

Kaden uses the Potty!

Such a big boy! We haven't been potty training Kaden, but we did buy him a cars potty seat a few months ago. He is very interested in the potty and is always there to escort whoever needs to go!On April 21st, we got up and went downstairs as usual to have breakfast. As I was getting Avery's breakfast ready, Kaden started saying, "poo poo" and tugging at his diaper. I wasn't sure if he really needed to go or what he was doing. He just looked at him again tugging at his diaper and said "poo poo." I asked him if he needed to go poo poo, do you want to go in the potty? He shook his head intently so I said, "hurry, hurry...let's go!" We ran into the bathroom and took off his diaper. He sat there and looked at me. Meanwhile, Avery was not so patient waiting for her breakfast. So, I told Kaden that I would be right back I was going to check on sis. I really just wanted to see what he did if I gave him some privacy. Sure enough, he pooed in the potty!!! We were very excited and celebrated and of course took a picture! He got a special treat of 3 Hershey Kisses! He LOVES chocolate! I was so proud of him especially because we never had really pushed the issue. He has sat on the potty a couple times just to try it out, but that was it! What a big boy! He has gone a couple more times since, but still not pursuing it full time!
