Silly Boy!
A few night ago I put Kaden to bed. He was so tired and of course cried when I laid him down. I decided to let him cry it out, after a few minutes it was quiet. So I went to check on him and found this!
He found a way to comfort himself. When he falls a sleep on me he usually holds on to my shirt, so it was funny to see him like this! Cute little guy!
...and I know it will soon be time to remove those bumpers!
7 Months!
Kaden turned 7 months on Sunday, December 13th! I feel like everyday he is doing something new. He has finally figured out that he can move himself. His sits up very well and will lean until he gets what he wants. When laying on his tummy he will get up on all fours and rock back and forth and move his knees. He isn't comfortable taking his hands off the floor. He scoots backwards and will turn in circles. He is very flexible!
Kaden is very strong. He does well picking up things. He likes to bang them on the floor, table or anything he can touch. He will smack himself in the head and it doesn't even phase him. Of course, if he isn't smacking it down it goes straight for his mouth. He gets very creative in moving himself in ways to get things in his mouth. He can hold his bottle and take it to his mouth, but usually not for very long until he needs help.
He loves to sit up. He isn't a fan of laying down. He loves to be on his feet as well. He likes to play with his toes. He likes any toys that have noise and lights are a bonus. He likes anything that crinkles. If he hears crinkles he will stop and look for it. He has really good hearing and responds when you call his name. He has two bottom teeth and continues to teeth. He holds on to my shirt for dear life and then throws his head to my shoulder to gnaw on. He makes some pretty funny faces especially as he has discovered his teeth with his tongue.
Kaden is eating cereal, and stage 1 baby food. He eats cereal and 1/2 of fruit for breakfast, cereal and a whole vegetable for lunch and cereal, 1/2 fruit and whole vegetable for dinner. He still does not like squash and he really doesn't care for peas. He loves sweet potatoes and prunes. We continue to fight constipation with him, but luckily he loves prunes so prunes are a normal part of his diet.
Sleeping patterns are still messed up. He usually wakes up a couple times a night before waking at 4 or 5am for his first bottle. He goes to sleep after that for a couple hours and then wakes up for breakfast. He usually takes a longer nap in the morning and then a shorter nap in the afternoon. But if there is things going on he won't go to sleep or will just take a little power nap.
Kaden has just recently started the "mommy and daddy" only phase. He definetly prefers John or I. He cries when we give him to other people. He luckily will go to Suzy and McKenna (his babysitters) just fine, but if he is in a mood will wimper a little bit.
Thompson Christmas!
Two Saturdays ago we had our Thompson Family Christmas at John's Dad's house. We had lots of yummy food, a great lights show that John's dad made in his front yard, and lots of fun gifts!Kaden of course got lots of great gifts from his Uncles and Grandma and Grandpa Thompson.
Kaden had lots of fun with the wrapping paper!
We had a very nice evening with our family celebrating the holidays!
Meeting Santa!
Two Saturday's ago we took Kaden to meet Santa Claus. He was really cute when I sat them on his lap. He just looked up and stared at him with his hand in his beard.
Then when he just didn't understand what was going on he looked for us.

Somebody is getting a 2nd tooth....
Kaden's 2nd tooth is just about to break through...John spotted it today! That explains his random bursting into tears during the middle of the night the last couple night and the extra excessive drueling!

6 Month Pics
We got 6 month picture of Kaden a couple weeks ago...what can I say...he is a cutie!! We did a bunch of family pictures first and he was all smiles (and of course I really didn't like those). Then, we did him and he was done but we got a couple shots! Enjoy!

'Tis the Season!
Last weekend was so busy with the holiday, friends, family and work that I didn't get a chance to get my Christmas decorations out, so today I finally was able to get them all out! Kaden found his favorite right away. It is a little mouse that sings, "Ice Ice Baby" and his Christmas lights on his Santa hat that light up. It is my favorite Christmas thing I have. I have had it 6 years, I bought it from Target the first Holiday season I worked. He was pretty funny with it.
Not only is it the season for Christmas decorations, but also getting a cold. Poor Kaden got his first cold on Sunday night and has been battling it all week. It is so sad. The first couple days he just kept choking on all the crap in his throat. He isn't choking as much now, it is just hard for him to breath especially when he sleeps. I have had him in our bed the last 2 nights with the humifier. I have been using saline drops and sucking his nose, but he hates it and gets so mad. I have to pen him down and I hate that. Today he started to run a little bit of a fever. I gave him some tynelol and that helped. Besides his runny nose and being a little bit whiney you wouldn't know he is sick, he is all smiles! I hope he gets better fast!
Big Boy Gets Bigger!
1st Tooth!
After months of agony, Kaden's first tooth finally broke through the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. And no he isn't crying because I was taking his picture, we were in the car on the way to Thanksgiving and he doesn't like the car after about 20 minutes, so I thought it was a great photo opp, since you couldn't really see it anyother way. It is crazy it seems like it grows every day...it is really poking through good now and it is sharp!
Early Christmas!
We had a busy Thanksgiving weekend. On Sunday we celebrated Christmas with John's mom and his brothers. It was fun to get in the spirit right away after Thanksgiving!
Kaden was cute with all the wrapping paper! He liked the ASU bear his cousins Jenna and Cora got him!
Kaden also got some soft cars, that roll really good!
Kaden got Grandma Jan some baking supplies for her new kitchen for one day when he can bake with her.
Kaden really well with the bag.
He pretty much got it off by himself!
Once he finally got it opened there was so much to look at! It is a cool little activity table! Lots of sounds, music and lights...just what Kaden likes!
As you can see Kaden didn't get neglected!
Jenna had been saving her money for an American Girl Doll and finally saved enough so she got her American Girl Doll right before Thanksgiving. Her doll, Kit, it like another member of their family, it is really funny! So, Grandma Jan got Cora her own doll similar to the American Doll. Cora fell in love with it right away. One of the first things she did was to introduce her doll, Chelsey, to Jenna's Doll, Kit. It was the cutest thing ever!
