Proud Mama!!

Can you blame me for being a Proud Mom!! Look at how cute he is! He is starting to smile more than just randomly in his sleep...it is so cute! He is such a sweetie pie!
For the last week we have been working on routining Kaden with a eat/play/sleep cycle. Some days have been better than others. His latest thing is that he doesn't like to nap during the day. He will be so tired and fussy and even fall asleep in your arms, as soon as you lay him down his eyes open wide and is awake and doesn't want to sleep. If he doesn't cry, he will just lay there and look around and then eventually cry and I mean cry. He is fighting going to sleep! Today we started swaddling him for naps and it seem to help a little bit. He was a very good boy today and napped when he was suppose to!
An update on Kaden's diaper rash...we had to go back to the doctor again last week because it wasn't getting better. We got a 3rd prescription ointment to use and they also did a culture to make sure it was a bacteria. We haven't heard from the doctor yet so hopefully it isn't. We have been using the ointment for 5 days and using wash cloths to clean him (his bottom was so raw) and there is just a small rash left. Yah!! Finally something that worked...poor guy!
Isn't he sooo cute!! He is completely John! Pretty much the one thing he has from me is his fussiness and impatience when he is tired or hungry!John is pretty proud of how alike him and Kaden are. He will be holding him and looking him in the face and say, "Man... sometimes I swear I am looking in the mirror."

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY JOHN!!!

We celebrated John's first Father's Day over the weekend. John is a fantastic dad! I am very impressed on how well he does with Kaden. There isn't anything he won't do or doesn't want to do. He is a natural! He can change him, feed him, bathe him and calm him with no problems. In fact, he has given me tips. The first few weeks I felt like he was being a better parent than I was because it was so easy for him, but I caught on and now we are great partners! I am so grateful for his love and support. Kaden and I are very lucky to have him! We love you John! Happy Father's Day!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!! Yesterday, we celebrated Father's Day with my Dad. We had lunch together and spent the afternoon hanging out. I love my dad so much!! He has always supported me in everything I have done. He has a great sense of humor, you will have a good time if he is around. He is very excited to be a grandpa and does a great job with Kaden. He also is a natural! Thank you dad for everything you have done for us! We love you so much!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY BIG JOHN! On Saturday, we celebrated father's day with John's dad. We all meet up for brunch. Big John loves his boys and is very proud of each of them. I appreciate his sincerity and love for his family.

Back to Friday Night Dinners!!

On Friday night, we finally decided to venture out with Kaden. It was our first outing out as a family. We joined back up with our friends Brad and Tonya and my sister, Suzy, for dinner at Oregano's.


Kaden was very good. He was asleep from the car ride over, but then woke up hungry. We fed him as we were waiting for our food! Luckily, he can also take the bottle no problem so we were able to continue to socialize! After he ate he just hung out happy as can be!

John and I were very excited to get out of the house! I am sure Kaden was just as excited, he needed some new scenery.

Thank you Brad, Tonya, Gaven, Garrett and Suzy for a great first night out!! We had a great time and look forward to our next outing soon!

My poor little baby...

Kaden has had a rough week. To start off, he has had a very bad diaper rash for the last few weeks and then last week he got a bad rash on his face. I called the doctor on Monday and they had us come in. The face rash is just normal baby rash, but pretty severe. For his diaper rash they gave us a prescription diaper rash ointment. After using the ointment for one day it made the rash worse and spread all down his bottom...so I called the doctor and we went back in. The doctor gave us 2 prescriptions, one with an antiobotic and the other with a rash ointment and steriod in it. So after a few days it is getting better, but still looks awful. We have been trying to air him out as much as possible...one of his favorite positions is on the boppy! Poor Kaden!

On a good note..Kaden has learned to "low crawl" over the boppy all by himself, no help!! He loves to scoot around and it is the cutest thing!

Kaden is also loving his play gym. He loves to look at all the colors and especially likes the whale. He sticks his hand under the whale and bounces it up and down.

Kaden is One Month!

Kaden is one month old! I can't believe it has been one month already, but on the other hand it feels like he has been a part of the family forever. He is growing and getting stronger by the day. He is a good sleeper. He wakes up every 3 hours or so in the night to eat, but then goes right back to sleep. His favorite sleeping position is on your chest, he likes to cuddle! He likes taking baths as long as he is sitting in the water.


Kaden can hold his head up and loves to look around. He likes bright lights, looking outside and looking at the pictures on the wall in the family room.

Kaden likes to play on his tummy. He recently has learned to "low crawl." He likes to four wheel over the boppy. He pushes his feet off our hands and lunges himself forward. It is the cutest thing! He even puts sound effects into it.

We had our first family photo and professional photos of Kaden taken. He did a great job and hardly cried at all. I was pretty excited that he was awake for it. I had just planned that he would be sleeping through it or would throw a huge fit, so I was very proud of our little man!

Although it doesn't look like it, Kaden somewhat enjoyed his bath. He didn't care for the bath lounger, but he did like just sitting in the water. He did a great job! I think he may enjoy it more next time if I get in with him so he can just hang out in the water!

Kaden at home!!

It has been great having Kaden at home! We definetly had some adjusting and getting to know each other. He is just sweet as can be! We had issues at first with him breastfeeding and not gaining enough weight, but we have overcome that. Now he is just a bit fussy at times, I think he has stomach (gas) issues, which is so sad to see him like that! Otherwise, he is great and I love him to pieces!
