Avery is 1 Month!
Avery turned 1 month yesterday! She is growing so fast! She is 10lbs 11oz (75th percentile) and is 22.5 inches long! She is much more alert now and will look around and make eye contact. She likes looking at our family picture on the wall in the family room. She doesn't care for bright lights.
She can hold her head up pretty well. She likes to sit in her bouncer and look around or fall asleep. She likes her swing as well. When she is on her tummy she likes to kick her legs and try to army crawl. She grunts and everything, she does get frustrated when she can't go anywhere.
She is eating very well. I am only nursing. She eats every 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hours. She is having some gas issues, so I am not sure what I am eating that is causing her issues. She gets these explosive diapers and manly burps. She seems to get fussy the most in the evening.
She is doing well during the night. She usually has her last feeding around 10:30pm or so and then will sleep for about 5 hours before she wakes up again. Then usually she wakes up 3 hours after that. So, it is nice to get some sleep!
Avery makes a lot of funny noises. She is not a silent one! She is so cute when she stretches, her whole body gets into it and she makes all kinds of noises!
Kaden is doing a great job with her. She is getting very soft! He loves to give her kisses. He likes to hold her too, that last about 5 seconds and then he shoves her off him and says "all done." It is pretty funny. He is a great helper. He does not let me change her diaper alone, he wants to be right there helping. He also always make sure she has her blankets, if she doesn't he will get it and bring it to her. He loves to share with her, he will give her his little monkey, his blanket, he tries to give her his milk and food. He is a great big brother!
Kaden is starting to get some jealousy, mostly with John. If John is holding Avery (mostly if she is upset), Kaden gets very jealous and starts acting out. Then he wants to be held by John, he goes crazy. Apparently, he is ok sharing his mom thou! He does ask to be carried alot now, rather than walking, which before he only wanted to walk. In the last few days, he wants his mom and dad at the same time so that is a challenge. Overall, it is going pretty good. Avery is as precious as can be, we love her so much! And Kaden is a sweetie pie who we loves so much too!
Avery's 1st Outing...meeting Santa!
We took Avery on her first outing on Tuesday. She went and met Santa Claus. Of course, she was great! She didn't care for the car seat so much, but once we started driving she was better. It was nice, there was no line to see Santa! She was asleep during it all, but it was nice to get out of the house for sure!
Kaden on the other hand, was a bit terrified to see Santa. He knows who he is, we have a couple stuffed Santas at home and he likes to play with them and say "Santa." When it came to the real thing, not so much!
So, we ended up with a family picture!
He still isn't convinced, but at least he isn't screaming and trying to get away!
Afterwards, he was fine. He went and checked out the puppies at the puppy store and got some chicken nuggets!
We tried easing Kaden in to see Santa...we looked at him from far away and tried to get him to wave...then we peaked around the corned and watched other kids meet Santa, but it didn't help he wasn't for it. When I asked him if he wanted to go say hi and give Santa a hug, he said, "no, no, no, no!"

Welcome Avery Ann Thompson!
Avery Ann Thompson was born on November 15, 2010 at 11:06am. She was 8lbs 2oz and 19.5 inches long! She is just as sweet as can be! We love her so much. I had been much anticipating her arrival and so glad she is now with us!
Avery and her Daddy!
Avery and her Mommy!
The delivery of Avery was very easy. I woke up at 4am with contractions a little over 5 minutes apart. I waited for about a half hour to make sure they didn't go away and it was the real thing. John woke up and noticed that the bathroom light was on and I was sitting up in our bed with a watch. I told him that I had been having regular contractions and to go take a shower if he wanted to and that I was going to call my sister Suzy to come over and stay with Kaden so we could go to the hospital.
When they checked me at the hospital I was dialated to a 5, so it was time to order up the epideral. About an hour later I got it. I was ready for it! The contractions weren't as bad as they were with Kaden, but I think I learned to manage through them better...I actually did some breathing! About 4 hours later I was ready to push...3 pushes later...there came Avery!
She looked just like Kaden when he was born except with a different nose. As time has gone on she is taking on her own look! She learned to nurse very easily, thankfully (Kaden was a terrible nurser). She has been really good so far. She is sleeping on her own at night and just waking up every 3 hours or so to eat, so I am getting some sleep! The second baby is much easier than the first, mostly because I am not so paranoid that I am not doing the right thing. Avery is not as fussy as Kaden which helps..Kaden had stomach issues when he was born.
Kaden couldn't come to the hospital because it is flu season, which I was totally bummed about. When we came home for the hospital he was waiting for us. He was very excited about meeting his little sister. He immediately wanted to give her a big hug and kiss. He just wanted to touch her and love her. Of course it was a little difficult becuase his soft isn't so soft. He has been really good with her. He is very intersted in what she is doing. When she makes a noise Kaden will copy her noise. He wants to help change her diaper. If she doesn't have a blanket Kaden gets her one. He wants to share his stuff with her as well, his milk, his monkey, his blanket etc. He is very cute with her, but we have to keep a very close eye on him. He lashes out when he gets really excited so we have to be on our toes!

Still Pregnant!
That's right...I am STILL pregnant. I thought FOR SURE that I would have her by now. Besides Kaden was 2 weeks early!!! Not the case this time. This pregnancy has been much different that Kaden. Kaden I was really sick at the beginning, but then felt good until the delivery. I worked right up until he was born. With this pregnancy, it wasn't as bad at the beginning, but I have not felt good the entire time. I had to stop working 3 weeks ago because I just couldn't do it anymore. My nausea came back at the end this time too...not fair! The anticipation is killing me, I just want her to get here! It is literally making me crazy and I am getting paranoid. Hopefully she will come very soon...today would be great although yesterday would have been better! :)
We are so excited for her arrival. I wonder what she is going to look like, will she look like Kaden? I really have no idea because the last couple ultra sounds her head was so far done and turned around the only thing we say was a circle of her head....she definetly has her own personality already! I am a little worried about Kaden, I don't want him to feel abandoned, it is hard to believe that I will love another person as much as Kaden, but I know when I see her I will. We talk about baby sis all the time to Kaden and he knows she is in mommy's tummy and he will rub her and give her kisses, but has no idea what it really means. He has started to think that everyone has a baby sis in their tummy to include him...which is kind of funny! So, we shall see..hopefully very soon!
Kaden 18 Months - 1st ASU GAME!!
Kaden officially turned 18 months on the 13th and he celebrated by going to his first ASU game with John! He was decked out and ready to go! GO ASU!
Kaden is such a big boy these days. He is turning into Mr. Independent. He is such a little copy cat, and it is pretty cute! He is a very good helper as well. Anything you are doing he likes to be there right next to you, whether it is house cleaning...he loves to dust and vacuum (momma's good little boy) or yardwork with John. He is a good helper and a good listener.
He is talking, he says; Mommy, Daddy, Up, No-no-no, Uh-Oh, cookie, yum yum (ice cream- can you tell I'm pregnant!), car, dog, done, milk, and papa (grandpa). He still uses his signs a lot as well. He signs: More, please, thank you, food, and all done. He is very expressive and you know when he wants or doesn't want something. He also is very smart he knows where things belong and knows when something is out of place..he will say uh-oh (I know...I love it!). He also knows when things go together like car keys with the car. He shocks me everyday with how much he knows and how much he pays attention. If you give him direction or ask him something he will respond correctly (well...most of the time and if he feels like it!).
He loves playing outside, still his favorite. He loves playing with cars, whether it is toy cars with his toy garage or cars he can ride in. Loves cars! He will tell you they go vroom...vroom. As well as he will tell you that dinosaurs go rrrraaarrr! And doggies or woof woof. He also loves book and building blocks. He loves to be chased and scared. He is very ticklish under his chin and his arm pits!

Halloween 2010!
Kaden was Superman for Halloween this year! He was pretty cute and excited to wear his costume! He did a great job figuring out that the candy goes in his pumpkin. He also was a great helper with giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters! He would put it right in there bag!

Update!
I have been quit the slacker when it comes to my blog! Life has been busy or I have just been too tired! Baby #2 is going well, although this heat is killing me! I can't wait for it to cool off, 111 over the weekend is just way too hot! This pregnancy has been much different than Kaden. I am much more tired and have a lot less energy and she makes me way more sore! Other than that everything is going well and is right on schedule, she is measuring big (surprise, surprise), so I am curious to see how big she is at my next ultra sound in a couple weeks. We are getting her room ready. We have all the furniture and bedding, so we are just working on decorating. This one has been a little slower than Kaden. I was all ready to go with Kaden at this point, I have had a hard time finding things I like, but we are on the right track now! Besides, we still have 2 months! I'd like everything ready to go by the last month, so we can just relax and wait for her! Who knows, Kaden was 2 weeks early so you never know!
Kaden is a hoot! He is so funny and smart! He loves to be a little helper in everything John and I do. He is turning very independent, he is starting to throw fits and all. But he still is a little cuddler and loves to be with his mommy and daddy! He is in to everything and exploring the world, he definetly is playing a big part of me being so sore! But we love him to death and he is such a cutie pie! We have been talking a lot about his sister and getting him to say "sis." It will be interesting to see how he does when she gets here. He loves little babies and people his size, we will see if he likes her the same!
John is doing good! Working hard and doing all the little projects I ask him to do for the baby and all. He is such a good sport and puts up with my craziness very well! He is very excited that football season is here. He is pretty passionate about his football, especially college football! GO ASU!
We are doing very good, just preparing for our new little one! We are so excited...now if I could just come up with a name for her???!!

Mr. Stud
Look at this handsome stud!! My brother-in-law got married on Saturday, so of course Kaden had to dress to impress! Congrats Ryan and Julie!
He had a great time at the reception! He loves to dance! He did not hesitate to take himself out on the dance floor and show his moves!
Kaden's First Hair Cut!
It was finally time on Friday for Kaden to get his first hair cut! I know he didn't have much to start with but he was getting really shaggy in the back. The front didn't have much!
Kaden did a great job. He stayed still pretty much the whole time. He didn't like it when she trimmed the top, he kept ducking down to get her to stop touching his head. It was pretty funny!

Kaden's 1 Year Pics!
Here are some one year pictures of Kaden that we had taken! He was so good! He ate up the camera! Cutie Pie!
Kaden has grown so much in the last 2 months! He is learning something new everyday. He is getting so smart! In the last 2 months he has had many milestones.
Kaden is walking like a mad man. He is on the verge of running! He is mister curiousity! He always wants to know what you are doing and wants to be apart of it, he doesn't like to be left out!
Kaden has learned to point. He points at everything and makes noises like he is talking, it so cute. It is nice because we have some idea what he wants. He is not only pointing but using his signs very well. He signs that he wants food, milk, he wants more, and all done. He has been putting a couple signs together now too. He will say more...food. It is so funny because he gets so excited when he tells you. He also waves bye bye and will blow kisses on occasion.
Of course he is learning to get into trouble. He thinks "no" means keeping doing it. He thinks it is funny. He responds to "uh uh uh" better but it is funny because he will mimic you when you do it, but he will then usually stop and walk away giggling. If you go towards him when you are telling him not to do something he will get a big smile and run away from you.
Kaden loves playing in the water, whether it is the pool, the bath, the shower, whatever! He likes to drink the water, which is pretty funny to watch.
Kaden has learned to dance and he loves it. Anytime there is music he will stop and dance. It is really funny to watch when we are in the car in his car seat...he will bop his head up and down. He recently added hand movement, usually he would just swing his hips back and forth, now he puts his hands up and move them back and forth...it cracks me up!
Kaden loves to open and close thing sand take things out and put them back in. He is a great helper with laundry. He will bring it to the washer and give it to me. If he finds clothes he will take them to the hamper or just stick them in the tub!
Kaden has also learned to open doors, so we have to watch out and lock everything!
He still has no fear. He will just to walk off everything no matter how high, whether it is the couch, our bed (which is high), stairs, whatever!
Kaden loves to be outside, although it is way too hot these days! He also loves dogs. He gets so excited when he sees them he will head straight for them with his hands out to pet them. He is doing much better and petting them inside of pulling their hair.
Kaden also loves kids and babies, although he isn't so soft all the time with them. I think he gets so excited and wants to try to pick them up, but it looks more like he is trying to attack them.
Although, he recently had some bad run ins with kids. He cut his first molar, and well I think it caused him to be a biting maniac, especially with kids. He bit 2 of cousins hard. He wasn't even mad, he was playing having fun and then out of no where he attacked...not good! One of his cousins is still scared of him. He is doing much better with bitting now. Although he has a second molar ready to break through.
Kaden loves his daddy! He is great with both of us which is so nice! He actually prefers that we are both with him. If we are both home and one goes up stairs or outside, even for a second, he burst into tears. He is very expressive. He always now how he is feeling, there is no questions there. He usually he really happy or just ticked off.
When Kaden gets hot or has been outside for a while,he cheeks turn bright red! Poor guy!
We have been having such a good time with Kaden. He lights up our day everyday! I love coming home to him! It is very exciting as we are getting ready for his baby sister!
I couldn't be happier with these two guys! They make everything wonderful!
