Merry Christmas!

We had a very nice Christmas! It was fun with two kids! Kaden got into it this year. He would say "Santa" when he saw one and if you asked him what Santa says, he would say "ho ho ho!" Too cute! These are some pics next to our tree!Kaden did not want to cooperate with this photo session!Kaden going in for a kiss like he does ALL the time!At least he still loves her, although he gets very jealous at times! We went and looked at Christmas Lights on Christmas Eve! It was a lot of fun. Kaden loved it, especially getting pushed in his wagon. He loved his Santa hat, he wore it alot around the house and of course to see the lights!
There is little Avery all coozy and warm in the carrier! She slept the whole time.
Kaden got bored of riding, so he helped push the wagon!
Trying to get a family photo..Kaden wasn't having it...poor Avery is hiding!
Kaden loved the lights and wanted to walk right up to them.
Riding and pushing wasn't good enough, he wanted to pull all by himself, he did NOT want help!
Grandpa had a turn in the wagon and Kaden had fun sharing it with him!
Christmas with John's Mom and Family!
Christmas morning..Kaden must have been a really good boy this year! Santa was very good to him and Avery as well as their grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles!
Kaden acted like a pro opening his stocking! No help needed!
Avery enjoying herself!
Avery finally woke up to eat, so Kaden helped her open her gifts. Her first purse!
Kaden got me a necklace with a little boy and little girl charm on it, so cute! He picked it all by himself I am told!
In the afternoon we went to my Aunt's house to celebrate with the extended family! Kaden had a blast and was exhausted. This is him when we got home that night! Santa hat and all!
This was one of the gifts Santa brought Kaden. His own keyboard with a microphone! He is so funny, he lefts making noises in the microphone!
It was a very nice Christmas!

Such a Big Boy!

Kaden has graduated to a booster seat instead of a high chair! He prefers it! He always wanted to set in a chair rather than his high chair so we decided to try it out! He is doing great with it. He is even doing a good job at not flipping his plate!
Kaden and I did some holiday baking. He is a great helper. He loves to pour in the ingrediance and stir. He is pretty patient, which makes him a great helper. He listens very well!Of course he got smart with frosting the cookies. He frosted the first one and then took a unfrosted cookie and dipped it into the frosting and started eating it. It was pretty funny

Avery is 1 Month!

Avery turned 1 month yesterday! She is growing so fast! She is 10lbs 11oz (75th percentile) and is 22.5 inches long! She is much more alert now and will look around and make eye contact. She likes looking at our family picture on the wall in the family room. She doesn't care for bright lights. She can hold her head up pretty well. She likes to sit in her bouncer and look around or fall asleep. She likes her swing as well. When she is on her tummy she likes to kick her legs and try to army crawl. She grunts and everything, she does get frustrated when she can't go anywhere.

She is eating very well. I am only nursing. She eats every 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hours. She is having some gas issues, so I am not sure what I am eating that is causing her issues. She gets these explosive diapers and manly burps. She seems to get fussy the most in the evening. She is doing well during the night. She usually has her last feeding around 10:30pm or so and then will sleep for about 5 hours before she wakes up again. Then usually she wakes up 3 hours after that. So, it is nice to get some sleep!

Avery makes a lot of funny noises. She is not a silent one! She is so cute when she stretches, her whole body gets into it and she makes all kinds of noises!
Kaden is doing a great job with her. She is getting very soft! He loves to give her kisses. He likes to hold her too, that last about 5 seconds and then he shoves her off him and says "all done." It is pretty funny. He is a great helper. He does not let me change her diaper alone, he wants to be right there helping. He also always make sure she has her blankets, if she doesn't he will get it and bring it to her. He loves to share with her, he will give her his little monkey, his blanket, he tries to give her his milk and food. He is a great big brother!

Kaden is starting to get some jealousy, mostly with John. If John is holding Avery (mostly if she is upset), Kaden gets very jealous and starts acting out. Then he wants to be held by John, he goes crazy. Apparently, he is ok sharing his mom thou! He does ask to be carried alot now, rather than walking, which before he only wanted to walk. In the last few days, he wants his mom and dad at the same time so that is a challenge. Overall, it is going pretty good. Avery is as precious as can be, we love her so much! And Kaden is a sweetie pie who we loves so much too!

Avery's 1st Outing...meeting Santa!

We took Avery on her first outing on Tuesday. She went and met Santa Claus. Of course, she was great! She didn't care for the car seat so much, but once we started driving she was better. It was nice, there was no line to see Santa! She was asleep during it all, but it was nice to get out of the house for sure!

Kaden on the other hand, was a bit terrified to see Santa. He knows who he is, we have a couple stuffed Santas at home and he likes to play with them and say "Santa." When it came to the real thing, not so much!
So, we ended up with a family picture!
He still isn't convinced, but at least he isn't screaming and trying to get away!
Afterwards, he was fine. He went and checked out the puppies at the puppy store and got some chicken nuggets! We tried easing Kaden in to see Santa...we looked at him from far away and tried to get him to wave...then we peaked around the corned and watched other kids meet Santa, but it didn't help he wasn't for it. When I asked him if he wanted to go say hi and give Santa a hug, he said, "no, no, no, no!"
Of course, Kaden wouldn't cooperate for a picture, he runs from the camera these days, I have to try to trick him or be sneeky to get him to look at the camera.
Guess I was lucky to get Kaden in my picture!

Welcome Avery Ann Thompson!

Avery Ann Thompson was born on November 15, 2010 at 11:06am. She was 8lbs 2oz and 19.5 inches long! She is just as sweet as can be! We love her so much. I had been much anticipating her arrival and so glad she is now with us!
Avery and her Daddy!
Avery and her Mommy!
The delivery of Avery was very easy. I woke up at 4am with contractions a little over 5 minutes apart. I waited for about a half hour to make sure they didn't go away and it was the real thing. John woke up and noticed that the bathroom light was on and I was sitting up in our bed with a watch. I told him that I had been having regular contractions and to go take a shower if he wanted to and that I was going to call my sister Suzy to come over and stay with Kaden so we could go to the hospital.
When they checked me at the hospital I was dialated to a 5, so it was time to order up the epideral. About an hour later I got it. I was ready for it! The contractions weren't as bad as they were with Kaden, but I think I learned to manage through them better...I actually did some breathing! About 4 hours later I was ready to push...3 pushes later...there came Avery!
She looked just like Kaden when he was born except with a different nose. As time has gone on she is taking on her own look! She learned to nurse very easily, thankfully (Kaden was a terrible nurser). She has been really good so far. She is sleeping on her own at night and just waking up every 3 hours or so to eat, so I am getting some sleep! The second baby is much easier than the first, mostly because I am not so paranoid that I am not doing the right thing. Avery is not as fussy as Kaden which helps..Kaden had stomach issues when he was born.
Kaden couldn't come to the hospital because it is flu season, which I was totally bummed about. When we came home for the hospital he was waiting for us. He was very excited about meeting his little sister. He immediately wanted to give her a big hug and kiss. He just wanted to touch her and love her. Of course it was a little difficult becuase his soft isn't so soft. He has been really good with her. He is very intersted in what she is doing. When she makes a noise Kaden will copy her noise. He wants to help change her diaper. If she doesn't have a blanket Kaden gets her one. He wants to share his stuff with her as well, his milk, his monkey, his blanket etc. He is very cute with her, but we have to keep a very close eye on him. He lashes out when he gets really excited so we have to be on our toes!
Such a sweet baby girl! Boy, do we love her so much!So little...so sweet! I am so happy she is finally here!

Still Pregnant!

That's right...I am STILL pregnant. I thought FOR SURE that I would have her by now. Besides Kaden was 2 weeks early!!! Not the case this time. This pregnancy has been much different that Kaden. Kaden I was really sick at the beginning, but then felt good until the delivery. I worked right up until he was born. With this pregnancy, it wasn't as bad at the beginning, but I have not felt good the entire time. I had to stop working 3 weeks ago because I just couldn't do it anymore. My nausea came back at the end this time too...not fair! The anticipation is killing me, I just want her to get here! It is literally making me crazy and I am getting paranoid. Hopefully she will come very soon...today would be great although yesterday would have been better! :)We are so excited for her arrival. I wonder what she is going to look like, will she look like Kaden? I really have no idea because the last couple ultra sounds her head was so far done and turned around the only thing we say was a circle of her head....she definetly has her own personality already! I am a little worried about Kaden, I don't want him to feel abandoned, it is hard to believe that I will love another person as much as Kaden, but I know when I see her I will. We talk about baby sis all the time to Kaden and he knows she is in mommy's tummy and he will rub her and give her kisses, but has no idea what it really means. He has started to think that everyone has a baby sis in their tummy to include him...which is kind of funny! So, we shall see..hopefully very soon!

Kaden 18 Months - 1st ASU GAME!!

Kaden officially turned 18 months on the 13th and he celebrated by going to his first ASU game with John! He was decked out and ready to go! GO ASU!
Kaden is such a big boy these days. He is turning into Mr. Independent. He is such a little copy cat, and it is pretty cute! He is a very good helper as well. Anything you are doing he likes to be there right next to you, whether it is house cleaning...he loves to dust and vacuum (momma's good little boy) or yardwork with John. He is a good helper and a good listener.

He is talking, he says; Mommy, Daddy, Up, No-no-no, Uh-Oh, cookie, yum yum (ice cream- can you tell I'm pregnant!), car, dog, done, milk, and papa (grandpa). He still uses his signs a lot as well. He signs: More, please, thank you, food, and all done. He is very expressive and you know when he wants or doesn't want something. He also is very smart he knows where things belong and knows when something is out of place..he will say uh-oh (I know...I love it!). He also knows when things go together like car keys with the car. He shocks me everyday with how much he knows and how much he pays attention. If you give him direction or ask him something he will respond correctly (well...most of the time and if he feels like it!).
He loves playing outside, still his favorite. He loves playing with cars, whether it is toy cars with his toy garage or cars he can ride in. Loves cars! He will tell you they go vroom...vroom. As well as he will tell you that dinosaurs go rrrraaarrr! And doggies or woof woof. He also loves book and building blocks. He loves to be chased and scared. He is very ticklish under his chin and his arm pits!
Kaden loves his mommy and daddy. He perfers to have us both at the same time. It is pretty cute! He gives so much love to us and his just too cute! He does great at giving hugs and kisses, blows kisses, waves bye. He is so much fun!

Halloween 2010!

Kaden was Superman for Halloween this year! He was pretty cute and excited to wear his costume! He did a great job figuring out that the candy goes in his pumpkin. He also was a great helper with giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters! He would put it right in there bag!
